... i'm trying to relax myself browsing at old pictures. i found this one we made last time i went home. i love this fruit so much. since i was a kid i was addicted to it. i like its hearty flavor, soft and smooth. see that thin green line close to the peeling? that's the best! i love it mashed with milk and lil sugar. i always questioned my mom why she just cuts them into slices and dip it in sugar. i always though that she's spoiling the whole savor. it is so delightful. it is some kinda food-treat for me, like chocolate to girls who are sobbing (:
... i remember finding them once in a Chinese supermarket. the prize was unbelievably expensive for a size not even half of these ones in the picture. i said to myself "no way that i'm getting that". we used to have an avocado tree in our backyard. my uncle has a big land in the province where different fruit bearing trees are grown. when avocado is on its season, we'd go to my uncle's to gather some. we'd go home with sacks of them. you should harvest them when they aren't ripe yet, but mature enough to be taken out of its tree. leave them in a warm place so it will ripen and soften faster. i usually put them in the rice box, i would dig a little and put them under them cover them again. then next day they'll be ready.
...i remember my bf's mum is growing it in a pot. they don't have it in Russia, it's a tropical fruit. i'd probably laugh if it was some other fruit which we sometimes take for granted just because we have too many of them. but since it was one of my favorites...then it's ok, i'd support the course hehe.
Avocados are one of my favorites. Eaten whole, or sliced and cubed into a salad. Great eating.
