Taishan

Taishan was one of the best places i've ever visited. it was a city built long time ago found inside a modern city. the inside city was connected to the mount tai (taishan). relics were lying there and the structures were preserved. it's one of the most famous tourist destinations.

We got a student who told us about her hometown and we paid her a visit in winter 2008. we were welcomed warmly by the family and gave us the best accommodation.

We went to this ancient city built within the new city or probably there was no city outside the old one before. the place was great. it was full of ancient relics which were exposed all around the place. usually these antiques are untouchable, they put them into some gallery but what we like about this place was that they were just all there, touchable.

the town was full of wonders too. we saw some group of people practicing for some event. we took the chance to have pictures with them. it's a rare chance.

it was a great place. i would love to go back there and climb the mount tai. all the other remains they said are there. it was just too cold for climbing when we went so we didn't have the chance. i missed hiking so much!

... a very big beehive sold on the street. the vendor wont tell us the price because he said we're not going to buy haha. but he allowed us to make a picture of it ...

... in winter, you don't need freezer for your meat. just hang them out outside, less energy consumption, people come to buy ...

... i liked the combination of what this man was selling. they were peppers and strawberries. dark red to light red, hot and sweet, dried and fresh ...

nota bene: more of these pictures in my facebook account album.
