in the name of vanity (part one)

i'm sorry boys but the blogger is a girl an girls supposed to talk about girl things :) well, one of the most common topic talked about is cosmetics. it is a must for a woman to take care of herself and to do that, you gotta use some "intruments" as you call it in music, and "ingredients" as for cooking.

here i got some some reviews about my latest discoveries and switches. i don't like changing from one brand of cosmetic to another but if i'm not satisfied of ones functions, i usually try to discover others.

LIP BALMS. i recently switched to carmex from mentholathum. the latter isn't bad too but when i found carmex at the university shop which was cheaper than the one i used to use, i tried and it's quite satisfying. it comes in different flavors but the original which comes in tube is still the best one. the only problem is that the tube breaks after sometime that the content sometimes comes out from the sides.

it is a good one. it has mild scent. softens and moisturizes well. best for all seasons.

HAND CREAMS. another new friends in my purse. just before they brought carmex hand creams, i was using Evian's. it was good and light, also non-greasy. but then i got excited trying a new this carmex which says "soothing" and "tendering" . ok, i thought that i'd want to try if it really works as it was advertised. well, fortunately it did, so that's what i am using now. i went to the shop yesterday and they are our of stock. ugh! i really didn't want to use any other now, my hands felt fresher and looked better even in winter. i got nivea yesterday just to use temporarily until i'd find carmex again. eehh...the effect is not even close. :(

this mini she butter cream is a thick one. i only use it on heels 'cause they really get dry in winter. it's good. it softens and heals even the cracks.

FACE CREAM. Dove, yeah an all times favorite. i always loved Dove products. i like their lotions and creams very much. i like the way they smell too. this one is a new discovery for me. i first found in the shop just before the winter. i was quite satisfied with nivea (blue) thick cream (since there is no much choices) until i fount this new love. :) this one i would never give up. it's quite thick and greasy at first but after few months of using, i tink the skin gets used to it that it blends very well. i love it. it has very mild scent and nourishes my face skin. best for winter. the previous one i was using (nivea) there are times when it gets too clod and my skin still breaks. i had to use olive oil at least once in two weeks to keep the moisture. but this Dove needn't any supplement. it's all good as one.

BODY LOTION. another Dove love. the Body Silk lotion. it really feels silky. the smell is quite intense like a perfume almost. it is only good for summer though. it is so thin that it is not reliable for winter. but it gives a very silky feeling just as it was said to be. it is non-greasy as well which i like 'cause it doesn't feel hot and yucky.

BODY LOTION. St. Ives Renewing. i'm loving it. it didn't let me down this winter.  i always had trouble with finding a good body lotion 'cause winter dries me up a lot.  i used many different kinds and many different brands combined. hah, i always feel dissapointed. i even used baby oil together with body lotions. i was using nivea a lot. that was the best one available in the shop. but now, i discovered another shop which brings imported products of different brands.

this one really i would say is outstanding. no more dry itchy feeling after shower. and it's effective 24 hours. this is my second love.

FACIAL WASH. Cetaphil. it was only this year when i saw this in the university shop and nowhere else. i was hesistant getting it 'cause i thought that it might not be very good as for facial wash. i checked some reviews on the intrnet and skin experts said this is actually one of the best mild cleaner. not a very good make-up remover but as for a cleanser i a good one.

i like it. it does not contain much chemicals, no perfume and stuff but it gives you a healthy clean feeling after wash.


this are just the must-haves that i got. i'll write a continuation with the not so must-haves but nice-to-have too :) it's not easy to find these products here. they are not available from the biggest malls even. i got lucky to find some small shops who brings some things from other countries, i don't know they are getting them but they are real. maybe someone goes and buys some then sells here. prices are not too bad.
