Outside the 2nd gate from the main temple is a long corridor to the 3rd gate. Right straight after the 3rd gate is another pavilion built inside the Echo Wall.
The Echo Wall is the circular surrounding wall of the Imperial vault of Heaven. The hard and smooth wall in a perfect circumference constitutes an excellent reflecting body sound waves, which travel along the surface by continuous reflections. If two persons by the wall behind the East Annex Hall and the West Annex Hall respectively and speak with their face towards the north, they can hear each other's voice clearly.

up there with them to see what's inside. we were not able to make a picture of what was inside because the crowd was continuously flowing. it was like walk and glance. sigh.

around is the garden. we found some very interesting trees. very old ones which stood through time, survived amongst natural disasters... a true witness to civilization.

looks like a giant bonsai upon the entrance to another part of the garden.
it's not a bonsai, it has just become shorter with time, some part maybe died or dried up.

but this one is for sure. actually it was inside the fence where we are not supposed to get in.
we crossed, hehe very fast we took pictures, we will never be able to if we didn't take the chance.
i love the tree. it looked magical. traces of long life is obvious. i feel like it was like a very old man all with white hair and wrinkles. i wished it could talk to me and tell all the history that he has witnessed in the exact place he was standing.

ah this one is a different tree already. some old and big tree hehe
