The Firewood Stove
The firewood stove was used before the ceremony of worshipping heaven began. a cleanly washed and shaved calf was put in the stove and burned with pine twigs and reeds in order to welcome the god of heaven- a ritual of giving a warm welcome to the imperial gods by burning firewood. After the ceremony was completed, all the offerings, ceremonial placecards and silk scrolls were put into the stove to be burnt while the emperor stood by watching. A ritual called "watching the burning".

it's a long way to the 3rd gate (1st if you enter from the main entrance). i don't know why they are looking at each other hehe

at the gate. behind is where we went next. that's the echo wall. before we proceeded,
we took a short walk at the garden around.
