... last summer when we went to the Philippines, we were not able to make it to provinces. we stayed in Manila and i took the chance the bring my bf all around Metro Manila visiting places and friends, not to mention going to different offices to process different documents for my coming back to China and/or going to Russia.
... most of tourists who come to the Philippines for relaxation, they go directly to the white beaches. others who pay attention the country's history, they stay for sometime and take a look around in the capital. it was a hot day when we took a walk at the bay. it's a pity that we were not able to see the "bay walk" where bands used to play and booths of different things and food are still around. they said Manila mayor ordered the removal of such. maybe it wasn't bringing any good to the society or the bay itself.
... after a long walk, we managed to get to the main road where all the most important offices are found. across from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, is the official government bank Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
... the CCP. the biggest theatre where big shows and plays are held occasionally.
... admiring the palmas hehe. i understand how is it not to have palmas in the place he grew up :). i probably will do the same when i'll be seeing thick snow in Russia.
... these are buko (coconut). they were sold along the road if you get thirsty, you can buy yourself a glass of coconut juice fresh from the nut itself. ask them to cut it in half and scrape the meat if you'd like to. best to drink in hot weather like this. it's good for kidney.
... and i didn't know how to get back home now (: i had to ask for some direction from a street cleaner which is named "pulis oyster". that's one good thing i found that there were more people given jobs. simple as it is but the government somehow does something.
