Beijing Trip 2010 (Day 2: Exotic Food)

This on one side of the Wang Fu Jing street is the food place full of Chinese traditional "xiao chi" (small food/snacks) and exotic food.

let us start with something sweet.

fruits coated with sugar syrup.

the one closest to me is "chao mien" fried noodles, one the most typical.

i like it but i didn't buy right at that place, i order in restaurants ",)

that one in front of the man, is some part of the pig, i don't know exactly how to call it but it isn't very attractive. some people like it though.

hmm, barbecued shrimps, not bad

now it's a barbecued crawfish.

this one smells really good. i even stopped to sniff it. 

they're scallops with some seasoning on the top. i would love to eat that but i wasn't sure how fresh the scallops were.

yet to be fried or barbecued: octopus and squid

now, how about a seahorse? would you like to try? ",)

'aight, let's go back to normal food. this is rice in pineapple.

We spent a couple of hours maybe rambling in the street, then we proceeded to the Tian'an men square to witness the famous "flag Retreat", a daily national activity.
